HISTORY:

Founded in 2017 by C.C. Kellogg, Valmora Productions is an independent production company committed to fostering emerging talent in film and digital media. We are proudly script focused, with an emphasis on first and second time feature screenwriters, and often work on international co-productions. A home for boundary pushing creatives, our work beyond feature films includes award winning shorts such as After Anyuta, educational virtual reality resources including Lear4.6, and hybrid live performance/ film works like Talk Back. Our projects have screened at over 30 festivals worldwide and received theatrical and digital release both nationally and internationally We develop films from the earliest script phase and look to cultivate multiyear, multi-project relationships with our core slate of filmmakers.

Valmora were the lead producer on Jaclyn Bethany’s The Falling World (Cinequest world premiere, NOT Film Festival intl premiere, 2022) a queer mystery feature available through Gravitas Ventures across major streaming platforms. We produced, alongside French partners Andre Naline Productions, Clemy Clarke’s debut Hi How Are You?, an experimental feature shot across 8 countries in iPhone “selfie mode” (world premiere, 2023 Santa Monica Film Festival; winner, Best Feature Film, Cinephone Film Festival 2023; distributed via Amazon and FLMKR January 2025 ). Valmora produced Greta Bellamacina and Jaclyn Bethany’s Tell That To The Winter Sea (LAFemme Best International Film 2024; UK theatrical and international digital distribution via Kaleisdoscope Film and Curzon 2024).

In Transit had its French premiere at Deauville, where it was nominated for the Grand Special Prize, and has a North American premiere forthcoming at NewFest, New York’s largest presenter of LGBTQ+ film. Both films will continue to tour international film festivals throughout this year.

Our projects in development include Greta Bellamacina and Jaclyn Bethany’s second collaboration All Five Eyes (in production, UK/ US), the feature length version of Paola Calliari’s The Long Step (pre-production, Italy/ US), and Kristin Winters’ debut feature Drizu Mamu (pre-production, UK/ Croatia).

PREVIOUS PRESS:

In Transit (2025)

“Bethany’s melancholy chamber piece captures a fleeting encounter that subtly marks the lives of the two women involved. Strong performances from Jennifer Ehle and writer, co-producer and co-star Alex Sarrigeorgiou help draw attention to a modest but effective tale that is realised with chilly precision (…) focus on the two women lends In Transit the feel of a rigorous novella that Patricia Highsmith might have written.” -Screen Daily

“ For those hunting for a down east drama that kicks the blueberry bucket clear across the harbor, aim for the outstanding made-in-Maine indie feature In Transit, directed by Jaclyn Bethany and written by Alex Sarrigeorgiou (…) It is all that true indie magic of distilling real life onto the screen, and In Transit is overflowing with it. In Transit takes the quiet way to the back of the drama barn and blows the doors right off it.” - Film Threat

Tell That To The Winter Sea (2024)

“An essential watch: ☆☆☆☆☆” -Upcoming on Screen

“blushes with the heady glow of summer(…) the film plumbs the complex depths of female relationship and the everlasting spell of first love” -The Guardian

Hi How Are You? (2023)

“More than just an experimental technique, Clarke’s selfie mode approach redefines how we view human connection in today’s digital world (…) a startlingly relevant exploration of our modern dynamics. The selfie transcends its reputation as self-indulgent to become a powerful tool for raw emotional storytelling.” -Vulkan Magazine

The Falling World (2022)

“Director Jaclyn Bethany oscillates between the poetic and the mundane, denting viewers the luxury of romanticizing either the curious disappearance or Lark’s own situation (…) hints at something of the Gothic” -Eye for Film

“a film that Whit Stillman would make if Stillman would ever immerse himself in the world of mystery/thrillers” - The Independent Critic
